Rene Russo is the daughter of Shirley Balocca, a barmaid who worked in a factory and Nino Russo. She was born on July 25, 1970 at Burbank California. Her father a sculptor and mechanic, left the family when Rene was just a toddler and her mother tended Rene along with her younger sister Toni as a single mom. Her father is of Italian heritage, and her mother comes from German-English Irish as well as Italian heritage. Rene suffered from scoliosis during her junior high years and needed a full-torso brace. She was already a tall girl and earned the title of Jolly Green Giant from her friends. Even though she went to Burroughs High School alongside Ron Howard (a fellow classmate) Even with her brace off her, she was still a lone one. She was a ranger.
